2004 Invested in Newark from the Start
Hanini Group acquired its first property, The Little Shields Building in downtown Newark through friends and family funding.
2012 Building New Life into the Heart of the City
The Columbian, originally built in 1890, once held a restaurant, clothing stores, and other commercial spaces. Hanini Group rehabilitated this Market St. wonder into having over 70 apartment units enveloped in classical charm paired with modern amenities.
2014 Restoring City Artifacts
Hanini Group had the opportunity to transform The First National State Bank Building into Hotel Indigo. In 1977, this building was placed in the National Register of Historic Places. Hanini Group continued to become a vital part of Newark’s revitalization through this project as it is centrally located in Newark’s business district, the “Four Corners”.
2016 Reviving City LandmarksThe Hahne & Co. building was a department store chain in the 1960s. In a public-private venture, Hanini Group had the opportunity to help revitalize this building into once again becoming a prominent city landmark.
2018 Reviving Urban Neighborhoods
The People’s Bank Building is an iconic landmark, standing as Passaic’s tallest building. This building first opened in 1931, at the height of Passaic’s economic depression, and has now been given a new life as a new office building for the Passaic Board of Education.
2022 Creating Limitless Communities
707 Broad St. is one of Hanini Group’s newly acquired buildings. This property sits in the middle of Newark’s bustling downtown neighborhood, surrounded by myriad national corporate headquarters, including those of Panasonic, Prudential, and PSEG.
